Transcendence is one of the most frequently discussed concepts in the history of Western philosophy. From Plato’s theory of the forms to the Christian God, then to the modern belief in science, logic, and rationality, there is always something that human beings look up to and say “This is bigger, holier, and more eternal than us”.

This short film is an exploration of the idea of transcendence. A monotonous robot lives in an absurd world always looking for something transcendental that can perhaps help it to make sense of its world up in the sky or behind the mysterious door.
